Default AC evaporator query

My wife's 99 LHS needs a new evaporator. I need to know if it has the serpentine style or the fin and plate style. Not sure how to tell without disassembly. Mine has the automatic climate control, set the temp and it adjusts accordingly. Please help. Thanks, DaveC.

never hear of what U are asking but then again its more then likely an aftermarket part so there will be differences but they have fins like just about everything. I have a 98 and I will be doing the same thing in the next few weeks when I get time.

Default RE: AC evaporator query

[8D]I first encountered this when I was checking ebay for a new evaporator and found 2 units. One was $30 higher and was listed as serpentine. A tech at work told me what it was, but I haven't figured out yet how to know which one is for my car. The on-line rep with the parts company couldn't say either. He said to ask my mechanic. I replied that I am my mechanic. Thus, my dilemma. May not be that big of a deal, but I prefer to know ahead of time so the car doesn't end up in pieces for a long time waiting on parts. I may have to call my local Chrysler parts house to find out. Thanks for the quick reply, I'll let you know what I find. DaveC
