Default crank/cam re-learn question

well, I havn't replaced the PCM in the concorde that I posted on here about.

I was going to help my brother do a timing belt on his neon and AllData says you need to do a crank/cam re-learn when you're done. does the 3.5L require that as well? would that cause it to not start??
