Default front wheel squeek

I have a 2000 concorde with a squeek coming from the front passenger side wheel area while driving. It happens going over bumps and taking corners mostly. It's pretty loud, you can hear it inside the car and also if the car drives by you. I took it in to a repair place and they said it was the slide calipers for the brakes and wanted to charge me 50 bucks a side to lube them so I took the brakes apart and cleaned everything and lubed them good and still have the squeek. I don't know if it's a wheel bearing or something else? Does anyone have some ideas or things I can check to start pin pointing the noise? Thanks for any help, Scott

I just took it to another place and they said the brakes need to be cleaned and lubed. Maybe I'm missing something when I do it, I put high temp brake grease on the slide pins and it still makes the noise. I pulled the slides out of the boots and lubed them and put them back in and then pulled the rubber boots back and put more grease on. Can anyone help me on how to clean everything and lube it to get rid of the squeek? Thanks for any advice on this, Scott

Scott,

I had a rotational clunk on my drivers side. Cost me $200 for the dealer to retorque the hub nut. So, I would check this and also make sure that the spalsh shield on the brake hub is not rubbing on the rotor. That could also cause a squeak.

Thanks for the advice. I took everything apart again and it still does it. I believe it is something rubbing metal on metal. I'm going to take the tire off again and try and find it. Otherwise I'm not sure from there. I just can't believe that the brakes need to be cleaned and lubed since I've done it a couple of times already with same results. I just did my rear brakes and they are fine and my front left is fine so I don't believe it's from my brake job. Maybe I hit the dust sheild or something and bent it. Or maybe something hit it while driving but I don't think so. The only reason I say that is because it took 3 months from the time I did the brakes till the squeak started. Not sure but I'll keep trying things till I find out what's going on.
