I have a 1998 concorde with a 3.2, The heat will come out boiling hot all the time except when you set the temp to low, At 60 its boiling hot, at low its ice cold. It doesnt matter if it is on auto or manual. I have replaced the resistor, the actual control head. I attempted the diagnostic calibration procedure and it came up with a trouble code of 26 which is the temp sensor in the control head which was replaced. Afterwards I cleared the codes with my scanner and the code didnt come back but the problem still persisted. If anyone can help that would be great, Thanks, Matt.

 

hey matt,couple thoughts on your problem.is the car equipped with a in car sensor? little sensor mounted around the dash.andif so is itclogged?? do you hear a clicking noise? if so you have a blend air door problem.might be stuck or actuator could be bad.you said you recalibrated right?moe!

 

Moe, It does have the in car sensor and it doesnt seem to be clogged, the fan on the back of it is running, and I did recalibrate everything. I will have to check to see if the blend door is operating properly or not. Thanks, Matt.

How do you get that blend door acuator out. Its really close to the floor and my mitchell program tells me it only takes 1.5 hours. Thanks, Matt.

 

Don't know on a Concorde but I suggest you goto www.dodgeforum.com, sign up, and do a search for an Intrepid. Should be the same. In most cases the dash has to come out to get to the HVAC unit, which is where the blend door is. Like I said, don't know about the Concorde, but if Mitchell says 1.5 hours, youmust be ablt to get to it without pulling the dash. The dash job is usuallu around 5-6 hours to pull. Check out the Dodgeforum, great site with lots of guys that will help out.

Ok the wierdest thing, The actuator was only working for like one click so I ordered a new one. I then pulled it outside and the temp readout quit working and it would only stay on manual and not go to automatic. When that happened the actuator started working again.
