Installing harmonic balancer
I just did the timing belt and water pump on my 2000 3.2L concorde. I have this snap on balancer install kit I bought used a while ago, YA188G, Installer, Harmonic Balancer, except mine has more adaptors including the M12x1.75 that threads into the crank. The problem is that the adaptor isn't long enough to go through the pulley and reach the crank threads. Also the factory bolt isn't long enough to get enough threads with out pounding on it which I don't like to do.
Is there a special tool for this or just a longer M12x1.75 bolt to get the pulley on? I've tried to find a miller specialty tool with no luck.
I got mine on by gently tapping it enough to get enough threads to be able to use the factory bolt to pull the pulley all the way on but I don't like risking stripping the threads out and I don't like to pound on the balancer pulley.
What is the trick for getting these on?
Thanks
