Question Upgrade to new factory radio - questions

I recently bought a 98 Jeep Grand Cherokee. It has a pretty lousy factory radio. I don't want to put an aftermarket head unit in it because it will look interesting to thieves. I started surfing ebay for some newer Chrysler and Jeep radios that have the features I want. The plain-jane factory look is perfect. Obviously I'd need a harness adapter and a bezel kit.

Do the newer radios have security features that will cause me a problem?
Do I need unlock codes?
How do I get past these issues if they exist?

How "NEW"???? Anything with Buss integration is going to be out of the question...

Is yours an INFINITY system....... If not, that is out of the question also , due to the need for an external amplifier.....

What you suggest is quite do-able, if you do your homework, but can turn disastrous very quickly....

As long as you are in the US or Canada, Unlock codes are not an issue......
