Default wiring problems with my 2000 concorde... :(

hello all!! i bought a 2000 chrysler concorde a few weeks ago, so i decided today was going to be the day that i was going to set up all of my audio. i hooked up a kenwood cd player and new front speakers in my car. i then went busted out the wiring kit to hook up my amp and subs, however i popped the hood and was immediately worried. my battery seems to be on the bottom of my car on the passenger side. there is a negative connection located up above and back a little from the battery and then there is a red piece connected to two bolts. im very confused as to how i am supposed to connect my power wire and im wondering if anyone knows where i can run the wire thru the fire wall...??
