Sounds like you might have found the fix! The seafoam is still a great sludge cleaner for the engine with or with out the oil light flickering, I use it in all my engines, before or after an oil change or any time in between. Unlike some oil cleaners this can stay in the crank case, it doesn't have to be drained after use. Just pour and go ( drive it like you stole it) LOL

ive done that repair a coupletimes many yearsago.heres what i don't in place of the vent kit.take theconnector off the sending unit and pop the little plastic plug thats next to the actual wire,throw it away.now take a plastic straw like the one on a can of carb cleaner.cut it so you can stick it the plug next to the wire.then clip off the excess.should be just above plug.this acts a a vent.reinstall.replace sending unit if its leaking.let us know.
