So I left my lights on and completely drained my battery. I charged it back up and when I started it, it was running terrible. Sounded like it was missing it was putt putt putt putt putt. Then the belt started squealing for a min. Then it quieted down and it was running fine. I haven't drove it yet . Why would it do that just from having a drained battery and recharge. It was running fine before.

The engine light was on its been on for 3yrs. But there's no light now because the battery went dead. I will be driving it tomorrow so I guess I will see what happens. I do have a scanner I don't remember what the codes were. I think there was a bunch. Most of them were manufacture control.

To diagnose any problem, always start with pulling up the code(s). Otherwise you're just guessing and throwing expensive parts which may or may not fix the problem. The code(s) will narrow down your search for a solution and save time and money.

I realize that I just found it strange that it did that from a dead battery and recharge. I've put 60km on it since and the light hasn't came back and it's been running fine.

Like I said before most of the codes were manufacture control and that never told me anything.

Well, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. But if it has codes, it may not be operating as efficiently as it could. The system is designed to keep running by compensating for things that aren't working properly, but it will set a code if it does so in order to direct repair efforts properly. I have no idea what you are talking about when you say that the codes were "manufacture control". If there are codes, your best be is to pull them out, look them up on the internet to see what might be wrong, then take an intelligent and informed decision as to what, if anything, to do about them. The car is almost 20 years old and not likely to be worth spending much money on, but if it's a simple repair, it might be worth the trouble.

Engine light came back. 9 codes p0440 evap system p0 133 o2 sensor then 7 weird #'s for each one all manufacture control. Anyway I had plugs here and a air filter so I changed those out. I no they don't have anything to do with the codes. There's 175000km on the car and the plugs were probably original because the gap on them was .60 suppose to be .44 the tips of the electrode or whatever its called was half gone so that's why it was such a big gap. Air filter was extremely dirty been 2yrs. Anyway it's running alot better and it's quiter now to.

nope caught up on everything now. Over the last yr I've pretty much done the whole front end. No more clunking and banging now. It takes money which I don't have much of being on disability. It needs a oil change in another thousand km. So that's the next thing. Then hopefully nothing else happens. I will get whatever oil Is on sale next month at canadian tire.
