So, I have one more issue with my girlfriends 04 Sebring Convertible. We put the top down recently and as soon as we started to retract it, there was a LOUD squeal from under the hood. According to her, it's not the first time its happened and all you have to do is shut off and restart the car. I didn't check it out, kinda wish I had, because when we got back, I couldn't get it to replicate the noise. Anybody else experience this? thanks ya'll

 

Power tops have a high current draw when in use. It is likely that the current draw caused the alternator to resist strongly, causing the accessory belt to slip. Replace or tighten.

Most squeals come from accessories and belts.
