05 chrysler sebring touring. Over revs
Ok i have a 2005 sebring convertible Touring. I had the oil change done not even 2 days later i was coming home from austin texas and it dumped most of the oil. Luckily oil pressure switch was that cause. But ever since I got it back it over revs to 2500 rpms as it sits it goes up to 3000rpm i dont know what its the cause or issue i have read on it i believe it is the transmission. But i am not a mechanic so i am turning to one who knows what it is.
The usual cause for high idle speed is a vacuum leak, although a defective throttle position sensor or idle speed motor can be causes. Here's some information on the subject:
Fixing idling, driveability, and stalling problems on chrysler, dodge, and plymouth cars and minivans
Not likely to be transmission if it happens "as it sits".
