Question Voltage regulator bad.....new ECM options?

2007 Chrysler Sebring 2.4L
So alternator quit charging. Had alternator load tested anD OK. Checked continuity on wire from VR (ECM) to alternator and OK. put jumper wire from battery to prong on alternator and alternator started charging......so determined it was/is a bad Voltage Regulator and needs ECM replaced to fix which I understand needs to be flashed to car to work after installation. I was told that Chrysler will not flash a used ECM to my car and I must buy a new one which only can come from Chrysler ($700) plus couple hundred shop labor ect...car is only worth $1500 so that's too much. Wondering if anyone knows of next best option? Found some Remanufactured ECM's online for between 300 and 400 dollars, says that they can pre flash them for your car with VIN number make and model ect. some also have warranties. Has anyone ever used a Remanned ECM and is this a reliable option? If so what are some of the better companies to purchase one from?

I bought a re-manufactured engine computer for my 2001 Sebring from a company I found on eBay. It was about $200 or so including shipping and return of my old one. It has worked fine now for longer than the original one did. That was over 8 years ago now and I don't remember the name of the company but they were in Florida, if that helps.
