Default 2001 Sebring BCU HVAC issue

Can't enter diagnostic mode for the HVAC system. I bought the Real Chrysler Tech manual and did exactly as it said. When I hold the EBL [Rear Defrost Button] nothing appears on my odometer lcd display just stays on the mileage.
This is Manual Temp control head. I'm A ASE tech. so I could use some input from an experienced Chrysler person. Reason for wanting to read codes is that
heat only works on passenger side doesn't matter where the mode switch is. The control cable to the blend door is functioning I hear the door when it moves. Thanks

I don't think that little diagnostic test works on a 2001 vehicle. I had a 2002 sedan and it did work. It doesn't work on my 2001 convertible. Like Tech says, you're gonna have to get your hands on a DRB that can get that far into the body computer.

Yea as I found 2001 doesn't have the diagnostics for actuators the car only uses 1 that's for the recirculation. The blend door and mode door are cable operated. Anyway I took the HVAC box out. A lot of screws and bolts but all in all not that hard. I found that the heater core is blocked on on side. after seeing how the heater core sits in the box I now understand how heat would not work on one side of the vehicle.

Pictures are always good. The best would be to post up pictures of the whole removal process, but if you didn't take them while pulling it out, take some while putting it back in. Then put captions on them and create a photo album. Entitle it as a "how to".
