I took my car in because the a/c would work for 15 minutes and then stop working. They leak tested the car, checked the compressor, and the level of refrigerant. No leaks were found and it was low on r134a. They recharged the vehicle and I am taking it back in for a free one week leak check. The problem still exists.... any idea what could be going on? I have heard that the switch in the dash controls can fail which can cause a problem like this.

The A/C system is complex with numerous sensors being read by the computer and the computer controls the compressor clutch. Yes it could be the controls on the dash. It could also be several other things.
They found the freon to be low but couldn't find the leak. That may indicate the leak is at the evaporator core in the dash. Leaks elsewhere in the system can usually be found. No point in wondering about sensors or controls if the system is leaking.
