Smile 2004 power switch bezel replacement - driver's door

Re: Chrysler 2004 Sebring BA / LX (4 dr sedan)

Recently, the power control switch broke off from the bezel trim and it sunk down below, making it difficult to work the switches.

The bezel has damaged screw receptacles so I cannot put the module back in place, as it was originally.

For now, I have been fortunate enough to attach the control switch module to the top of the door using tie-wraps. The problem is that there's no way to secure the trim piece (bezel) that sits on top of it, short of permently gluing it in place.

Does Chrysler sell this bezel separately, anymore?

If I must look in Salvage Yards, do you know what camparible years I can use to help narrow down my search?

Is the Dodge Stratus compatible, for this partictular bezel?

Any help is appreciated, thanks.

The bezel should be the same for 2001 through 2006 Sebring and Stealth sedans, although the color may be different (wood grain vs black). Coupe and convertible parts won't do.
If you're willing to pay the dealer price, you should be able to get one from the dealer.
You'll need to remove the door trim panel. Search the forum here for discussions about that.

Thanks, but didn't the Dodge Stealth series run from '91 through '96?

You're right. I meant Dodge Stratus.

Thank you for your kind replies. Went to a few salvage yards and came away empty-handed. Many of the sebrings and stratus cars had the door panels already stripped out, with some intact panels, but with that bezel removed.

I get the feeling that this is a common problem. The passenger side bezel has cracked as well, so I am now considering obtaining both of them.

Unfortunately, I may have to fasten the old ones with epoxy or possibly with a hot glue gun, where the bezel rests on top of the door (arm-rest) panel, if I can't find replacements.

Do you know what the part number is for that door bezel? I think the dealer wanted to sell me the emtire panel as a completely assembly, which was quite costly.

Try eBay. That part won't be listed but often enough, somebody will be parting out a car and if you write to him, he'll be glad to pull the part you want and sell it to you. So look for somebody selling Sebring or Stratus parts. I've gotten several things that way.
