2004 Sebring Convertible
I'm having a ton of trouble with my 2004 Sebring Convertible. It idles rough, the dealer has said it is misfiring and they just keep "updating the computer." The outside temp monitor doesn't work properly...it sometimes takes 8-10 minutes before it will slowly move up to the correct temp, one number at a time. They tell me that's normal but it didn't operate that way when the car was brand new! Anyone else had this problem? If so, what solved it?

RE: 2004 Sebring Convertible
well... buy a new car... no,.... um, there are a number of things that could cause you to have a rough idle,... if you have been anywhere near redline for more than 10 seconds with those factory spark plugs, that would do it... um,... this is very tedious, and I don't know how to describe it to you so I'm going to go get my mechanic bob to send you a post so it may help... what you have to do is find your plug for the computer, start the car, unplug it, jump 2 spots with a paper clip (don't know which spots) and set the idle on your throttle body... neat trick,... but I have no idea which spots on the plug to use, so I'll ask or have him write to you... as far as the thermometer,.. I don't know where it is, but find it and go buy a new one, just that piece, it should be pretty cheap as long as you dont go through the dealer.. my AIM is Pontiac73Bird if you need to talk about anything, or have any questions,.. the 04's were a pain in the ***...
