2004 Sebring Sedan Power Windows Not Working
#12
get a wire diagram and check for the power and grounds at the window switch
NOPE ..we cant do that....
Truthfully.....I have never...In all the years of doing this, seen a faulty breaker for inop windows....Ive seen bad switches, cut wires in the door, and even a woman who swore that her windows went down by themselves and she couldnt get them up.....Only to find all four of them had busted out...
Didnt the broken glass all over the interior mean anything to her...Perhaps not
So...
get a wire diagram and check for the power and grounds at the window switch

72 in Detroit this Sunday! Enjoy a ride with your top down, DC! Hey, I have a valid Wynn's extended service contract that has never been tapped. I'm sure all power window repairs are covered (less my $100 deductible).
One more quick concern if I may: I had my tires rotated and balanced last week. A couple of days later, I noticed a sound (like rubber squeaking) coming from the front end when I cut the steering wheel to the right from a parked/stopped position. Power steering seems to work OK and the vehicle drives normally. What should my mechanic look for after he fixes the power windows?
Thanks, DC!

Pretty hard to diagnose a sound via a bulletin board. "rubber squeaking" could be power steering belt, tire on pavement, suspension bushing, who knows? Have your mechanic stand by the corner of the car you think the sound is coming from and demonstrate it for him. Of course, if it's like most mysterious sounds, it'll choose that exact moment to cure itself, as least until you get back home.

POWER WINDOW MASTER SWITCH
Its been a while....And I dont recall off hand, but I think the switch just prys up out of the door panel....

You need to remove the door trim panel.

UPDATE: It took my mechanic 5 hours to diagnose and fix the problem (he said there was a bad wire running under the hood from the right front to the left front window). Being the nice guy that he is, I was only charged for 3 hours of diagnostic time/labor ($250.00 and change) instead of the actual 5 hours. On the way home, guess what ... the windows died and so did my instrument panel/gauges! He then replaced a fuse inside the vehicle and another under the hood, doubling the amperage on both. One more tidbit of info - the right rear window is permanently "dead". I guess 3 out of 4 ain't bad, huh? As I was leaving, he muttered that Chrysler electronics are nightmares to work on. Worse than any other make in the history of automobiles.

that's a whole load of BS u had better find out what fuses that dumb **** replaced by putting larger amp fuses in there and put the correct ones back in !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
the whole purpose of a fuse is to stop items on that circuit aka motor, switch, wire,or what ever is on there not to catch fire from a short to ground.
have u ever crossed a battery or let it hit a ground and got a big spark? well same thing.
if U have a 10 amp fuse protecting the system that means the wires and electronics are only suppose to handle up to 10 amps u put a 20 amp fuse in there and by god 20 amps will flow through and then begin to melt wires, circuit boards and who knows what else.
dont ever ever ever go back to that guy and yes that is my final word hehe
5 hours to figure out what was wrong my butt and replaced a wire from under the hood to inside my butt as well replace with larger amp fuse good god.
"Chrysler electronics are nightmares to work on"
this means he does not know **** about electronics.
