Bank 1 has the #1 cylinder. The #1 cylinder is the cylinder closest to the water pump. The water pump end of the engine is considered the "front" of the engine and the transmission is at the "back" of the engine. Modern front wheel drive cars have the engine oriented such that the "front" of the engine is at the right (passenger) side of the car. Chrysler V-shaped engines usually put the #1 cylinder on the bank that is closest to the rear of the car. That's the "right" bank. If the "front" of the engine were facing the front of the car like it does in a rear-wheel drive car, you'd instantly see why that bank is the "right" bank. It would be on the right side of the car.
Does that clear it up?

I've been battling this p0420 code on my 2006 sebring for almost a year now. It keeps coming on at cruise 1500 rpm or 70 km/hr

* Chrysler Sebring/200 Convertible Club * ? View topic - So your driving down the highway and the CEL comes on...

my details can be found there... is it true a lose wire on the passenger strut is to blame? how come i have trouble locating it?

but i pass the e-test though when clearing the code before heading in....
