2007 Sebring PCM
My car will not engage the alternator because the PCM has failed. When I brought my car into the Chrysler deal ship they told me if I want the part I have to pay upfront and there is no guarantee of when the part will come in. They said there best guess is 4-16weeks. Is there anything else I can do I live in Canada and have a 2007 2.4L Sebring. Any help would be appreciated.

Look on eBay for services that sell you a refurbished computer for a couple hundred bucks. You pay up front and they send you a computer. You swap yours out and return it to them in the postage-paid mailer. Not sure if they will work exactly the same way to Canada but it's worth asking. I did it for my car several years ago and was delighted with the whole process. You can call them up and get help removing the old one if you need it.
Before you go that route make sure your alternator is good. You can pull it and take it to an auto parts store for testing. Also check the wiring for loose or corroded connections. Don't assume the dealership checked the cheap things first. They would much rather make an expensive repair than a cheap one.
