Default 2008 Sebring Cruise Control

I have a 2008 Sebring Convertible and my cruise control is not working. Checked Vacum etc and think I need to replace switch. My question is how do I get to the switch in the Steering column.

Look at the underside of the steering column. Look for some screws holding the cover in place. Not sure about your model but they might be torx headed screws. Pull them out and the cover should come off.

If yours has buttons on the steering wheel, look for screws holding the cover on the back of the wheel.

Before you start fooling around with anything near the airbag, disconnect the battery and wait 2 minutes.

To get to the switch itself, take the bolts out (10mm or 13MM I believe) of the left and right side in your steering wheel.

The airbag should come off with ease, and still be attached by the connector. The switch itself should be visible, but not removable. Make sure the two wires are connected and there aren't any issues. If that isn't working still, it might be your clockspring, which is easily taken out once you get the airbag off.

In order to replace the switch itself, the steering wheel will have to be removed.

Since our cars all use ETC, there is no vacuum pump or anything, as it is all controlled by the throttle body and PCM.
