Default 2009 sebring AC delete 2.4 motor

2009 Sebring 2.4 motor The air conditioner clutch / pulley is non-functioning. Is it possible to put on a shorter serpentine belt and bypass the ac ? Has anyone done this and can recommend belt length ? Was ac an option ?
Thank you

Not sure if this matters, but bypassing the AC might throw a check engine light on some cars. Might wanna look into that before you do it

The car is a junker that my daughter drives, I am curious and will ask if the light is on. So far everything is functioning without ac. Thank you for your reply.
