Default 2011 Chrysler 200: Heater / AC system

Hi,

for teh last few months, some times, when starting up my car, the fan system (whether AC or Heat), does not come on right away. Usually, I will drive for a few miles, and then it suddenly starts to blow air, whether it is in A/C, fan or heat mode. This doesnt happen consistently. At first, It seemed to happen for sure when it rains, and many mornings when condensation has but up. (Very humd in VA where I stay).

I suspect a lose wire because shortly before this started to happen, I was in an accident on the right side door / fender and had the parts fixed. So because the fan eventually comes on and blows air, and seems to happen when its "wet" out this is the first thing I want to check.

I came to look for a wire diagram, but there is so much information on this site, its eluding me. Can anyone point me to the right diagram so I can trace the wires / cables ?

Of course, if someone has experienced this before and has some advice, I am all ears. With winter coming, its time to look in to this more seriously.

Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.

Joey

hey joey, sounds frustrating. i had a similar issue with my old ford focus. might be worth checking the blower motor resistor, it can cause intermittent fan issues. not sure about the wiring diagram though, sorry!

Suggest posting on '200forums.com'. Contributor there has access to the wiring diagrams

There may be diagnostic codes set in the HVAC control module that should assist in diagnosing the issue. There are reports that some auto parts stores will read the codes from the multitude of computer/control modules. I use the appcar-diagFCA software app and have access to all of the computer/control modules (requires a suitable OBD link to access the modules.

Thanks for mentioning the resistor. Will check in to that.

Good idea. I will see if there is a shop that can hook it up and see if there is a code.

Thanks for the info!
