2014 chrystler 200 limited 2.4 crank no start no spark
hey ive got a 2014 chrystler 200 limted 2.4 with a no spark situation. the car has no front lower motor mount and new plugs and coils due to a misfire code. the bay smells like gas when cranked and fuel pump works tested by disconnecting fuel line and routing it in a bottle, it appears that the car was curbed and im at a loss. im kinda thinking a wire tore at the harness on the side it routes next to the motor mount. any help would be appreciated its at the point where im about to part it out and scrap it
How was the 'no spark' determined? Does the engine fire briefly if starting fluid or throttle body cleaner is sprayed into the intake? How soon after the plugs and coils were replaced did the 'no start' appear? What is the fuel pressure, should be around 55psi (fuel flow does not indicate fuel pressure).
What diagnostic codes present, active and stored?
The 2.4l does not have a front motor mount/torque strut, the 3.6l does. What are the indications that the vehicle was curbed?
TBH i kind of forgot about the fact that thats required. i got no spark when i grounded the plugs to the block but now thinking about it i could just have bad coils/plugs. i replaced the plugs and only one coil cause theyre stupid expensive and the one was split in half. The vehicle had apparantly smelled like burning oil before it died, and i wanna say he said it overheated. ill attatch some photos of the undercarriage to reference the motor mount im talking about. As you can see the mount has been split in half and now kinda just hangs there doing nothing. If i put any kind of torque on the motor it moves severely, almost wanna say itll smack the hood type ****.
And as for fuel pressure im not sure the actual reading, im tight budgeted and didnt think it was that necessary..... The bottle filled up half way within a second so it seemed sufficient enough to me. The engine bay smelling like gas isnt anything useful?
Yes battery has been pulled a couple days ago and charged up, im currently waiting to reinstall it but i can tell you its fs leaking so replacement it in order if i keep car. when i first started diagnosing it i ran the codes and got a misfire code so i replaced cylinder 1 coil and did a tuneup (plugs). cylinder 1 coil was almost split in half so im not sure what would cause that but im kinda thinking either vibrations in excess or a misfire. after that i wanna say the misfire moved to a different cylinder but at this point im not sure my memory is booboo. i did notice the IAT & bracket for IAT were hanging loosly at the bumper not mounted, and google has told me that the wiring harness runs under the FL motor mount at wheel well (FL if ur standing infront of car) so thats where the assumptions to scrap car came from
iat sensor will not cause a car not to start
with the computer have lost power aka battery disconnected you will now need a scanner to see if you getting a cam or crank signal to see if the computer is requesting coils to be fired when starting.
okay ill talk to my brother about using his and ill get back to you once its been determined? am i able to test the sensors with a multimeter? and can you send a diagram on where those are located?
