Default 3.0 will not run in the rain

I have an 02 Sebring with the 3.0L engine, it has a hard time starting in the rain, on top of that it will just stop running at any time while I am driving, no sputter or warning it just stops. It throws two codes once in a while, the first is a knock and the second is the crank position sensor wiring error. I have replaced the crank trigger and the problem went away for about a month and is now back, I have heard that the cam sensor can cause a fault with the crank sensor, is that true? Anybody have any experience with this? Where do I check next?

PS all of the connectors are tight.

Have you checked your fuel pump? ASD relay?
