Question 96 seabring convert 4cyl. Odd syspension sound

So I've had this odd noise only on first accel or breaking. Never on turns. Sounds like a CV type sound, yet my CV are beautiful. Tie rods are good, I'm changin the upper ball joints, my dealer book says I can't change just the upper joint, must change whole control arm...however you can buy just the joint unlike the lower ball joint that I know is one set unit. Has any of you changed just the upper? And have ya had any other issues with this odd CV type noise. I know for a fact it's not the CV. When I change the Diff, I pulled apart the CV's and cleaned them and re greased and booted them since I had them out anyway.
