96 Sebring convertible Battery light
Well here is the history of the problem. Bought this car up north about 400KM away. Car drove fine for the first 300 km then the battery light comes on. 100km to get home so we continue car fails and we had to get a tow home.
Start to trouble shoot the problem as follows: Haynes repair Manual
- battery state put on charge over night 12.9 v
- removed battery and check cables and connectors "all in good repair"
- reinstall battery
- battery drain test check all fuses and relays " 20A seat belt fuse drawing 0.57 A with the fuse installed. drawing 0.07A with the fuse out. Pull the drivers seat check wiring bundles for broken wire. No joy hooked everything back up and took car for a 20km drive everything worked fine for about 15km then the battery light came on again parked the car
- checked the alternator output with the engine running 13.47V
Any advise would be great as I'm at a lose Thanks in advance.

First thing I'd do at this point is get a load test on that battery. Sometimes they'll take a "surface charge" and show good voltage but fall down when there's a load on it. Then I'd want to know why there's that current draw on the "seat belt" fuse. What else is on that circuit?

mmm guys a battery drain and a battery light are 2 complexly separate issues all together. If u want to deal with teh battery drain the higher then 35 mili amps after the computer have timed out is the way to go.
The battery light will only come one when the car is running and the volts are below the charging point . When the batt light comes on put your volt meter on the battery see what the volts are. 9 times out of 10 U will have a bad connector at battery or alternator if they are good then alternator is bad.

Thanks Chrysler Tech if I read this correctly you are saying check all the connectors and if everything is fine change the alternator. K i get that but why change the alternator when I'm getting 13.47v when it is running?
And there is still the issue of the power drain from the seat belt circuit.
