Default 99 Sebring electrical problems- body control module

Folks,

My father, who lives in southern Florida, called me to say he is having problems with his 99 Sebring. The window wipers, spedometer, odometer, roof and other items are not working. He says he has no gauges on the dashboard. A local shop diagnosed it as a body control module, which was what I was thinking. He doesn't want to spend a lot of money for an old car, but the engine and trans are in good shape and it only has 111,000 miles on it. I work on Subarus all the time, doing a lot of advanced work (head gaskets, timing belts, etc) so figured I might be able to fix this for him. I live in Boston, but will be down there for a week around Thanksgiving.

So, does this problem sound like the BCM? Where do I get a replacement and what is involved in replacement of the BCM?

Thank you!

Well, I can tell you if there is a BUS malfunction in the BCM, it will take down the cluster. As for being able to tell you for sure without seeing the car, I can't do that.

I am assuming this is a sedan?

Default If it is the BCM...

So, I used these guys, great work, good people.

http://www.sp-ecu.com

They not only fixed my 2000 LHS BCM, but as they know the problems/problem parts that break in BCMs, they replace the parts known for past breakage with higher quality parts than factory, install the latest version of the BCM firmware and program it to your vehicle specs for under 400$ with 3 day turn around.

And, they are in Florida.
