bcm issues A/C radio problems
Hello all, I am here for a friend as i don not own a sebring. I have an educated guess that her BCM is toast. her radio is frozen and ac/controls are not acting like they should (no loose connections) and from what i could research these chryslers seem to have notorious bad BCM's my question is if i find one with the correct part number matching her's will i need the donner cars key as the chip in the key will match the new BCM or can the original key be programed to the new BCM? ...many thanks in advance if anyone has any other ideas I am open to hear them...not the blower resistor nor the extra plug on the back of the radio,,,issue is radio is frozen wont scan or go to next station and a/c only want to go out the defrost and not vents, though it will sometimes..wires on back of heating control are tight and taped (hit) the controls makes no difference..cheers

the bcm is not with the SKIM system so no key issue will be made. The only difference is if U get a used BCM that had an alarm or auto temp controls for the ac then it will not work. with a manual ac system.

A/C problems could be related to the control unit in the dash rather than the BCM. They seem to be notorious for that. It's a very easy swap out and a lot cheaper than the BCM. You might want to try that first. The part is common to all Sebring convertibles and Sedans w/o automatic temperature control and Dodge Stratus sedans from 2001 through 2006 so there are plenty of them around.
Your radio problem sounds more like an internal radio failure rather than the BCM. I don't believe the BCM has anything to do with tuning to stations.
