Default chrome door handle-good idea or bad?

i like the sebring as it is, but i saw a tape with chrome-like cover at a pepboys last night. (it actually shined like chrome, and unlike one of those imitate chrome looks just like aluminum)
i saw the instruction, and it's basically peel the paper and put it on.
it didn't look that hard to do it, but what do you guys think? good or bad idea? by the way, it costs about $6 (3"x60")
(has anyone seen a sebring with chrome door handles?)

will look incredibly gaudy. there is a reason they didnt do it factory with chromedoor handles. that tape peels really bad too. stay away from that tape crap. i saw it on some guys escort trim to make it 'NICER' and it just makes it look extremely cheap. just tryin to look out for a fella sebring owner

thanks for the heads up.
i guess that makes sense, it is a tape after all.
i actually bought it this morning, thinking how nice it'll look on my car.
but i ended up not touching it at all, guess i was more concerned about it peeling off and do more damage to the paint than anything.
let me know if there're other people who think otherwise.

Bah, keep it simple and clean is what I think. It's really gross, the amount of cars with a bunch of crud additions that truly look terrible and detract, but somehow the owner thinksit looksawesome. The only addition I made to my Sebring was a$4.00 polished metalexhaust tip thatis rolled on the end andone in which the inside edge diametermatches uppretty muchperfectly with the diameter of thestock exhaust. It wasso cheap money-wise,but it reallyimproved the look of the car from the back and right side; plus it isn't like you normally see where the exhaust tip addon is freakin huge with the originaltiny little exhaust pipe tip just sort of floating there inside this ginormous space, which just looks hideous to me.

Well, I also like nice and simple, but I thought I wanted to try something new. [sm=interesting.gif]

Anyway, I don't want to get off topic here but, can you tell me whereyou purchased the chrome exhaust tip from, JimboXL?
And, did you do any modifications to make it fit? (let me know what year and model)
Thanks.

I purchased it at O'Reilly auto parts store. I went back to purchase another one for a friend who liked what it had done for mySebring and I couldn't remember who the manufacturer was for the one I purchased originally so I ended up buying an ROL Extreme tip that I thought was the same size as the one I purchased for my car but we haven't gotten to put it on yet so I don't know how well it fits. The label on the packagingsays "Fits Pipes up to2-1/2". They may have been out of the brand I bought. What I did when I bought my tip was to wrap a piece of paper around the end of my exhaust tip, tape that together so I had a visual representation of the diameter to go off of and compare to the tips while I was in the store, I also took measurements for the exhaust diameter. As far as installation and fit, I didn't have to do anything special, I just slid it on andadjusted the 3 screws until the inner edge that's rolled in was flush with the stock exhaust edge. I think ifsomeone didn't know better and went behind my car and looked at the exhaustthey'd think that it was just a stock option because of the decent fit. Hopefully you'll find the right one, I wish I could remember the brand I purchased, I seem to remember the label graphics had a black and whitechecker pattern on it, or a checkered flag of some sort. My car is a 2004 Sebring SedanLX.

Just an update,my friend finally gotthe ROL Xtreme exhaust tip installed on his 04 Sebring and it fit fine and the look is seemless as well,so this brand works too for achieving a good look on the exhaust.

good to hear that you finnally found the chrysler exhaust that you want. there are lots of mods that we can do to our car. it really depends on what we want to achieve + the budget we have. We'll I'm currently planing to do some mods - intakes, and chryler exhaust, mufflers - but because of some financial issues, I think would take some months before I can do my plans. Hopefully soon.. (cross fingers)
