Default Chrysler 200 -Warning lights flashing speedometer needle dropping

Driving home tonight and the speedometer needle randomly started dropping and warning lights would come on.

Noticed when I stopped the car that the lights on the dash were going dimmer and then lighter, which when I checked matched the exterior lights too.

Any ideas?

Thanks, the info. helps out greatly. Now FIRST and most basic step is to check the battery cables and battery for good clean connections(they love to corrode), and also have the battery load tested by someplace like Auto Zone(they perform this test for free) If the battery is more than 4 years old I would almost bet on a dying battery!

looks like the lights are flickering. so I would do a voltage test on the charging system, if it test out ok,then you may have a defective instrument cluster

Did you ever find out what was wrong with your car. I have a Chrysler 200 2013 and it is doing the exact same thing.

Get a code reader hooked up to it and gather the error code(s) that almost certainly exist in the computer. Those codes will guide you toward a proper repair. Depending on where you live, many auto pats stores will read the codes for you for free.

Thank you for your help. I'm glad I didn't pay for repairs. The black wire that's connected to the jump post was loose. I tightened it up, problems solved in less than a min. Thank you again.
