emergency brakes, help
[sm=headbang.gif][sm=helpout.gif] Ok, I have a 1997 Chrysler Sebring LX, the car has been fairly good to me over the past year, but the constant problems with the brakes is getting old quickly. I've only had the car for a year, and I've dumped over $2500.00 in the brakes alone. I've gone through 2 sets of front brakes, and have had to have the rear brakes, and E-Brakes changed. My main concern is with the E-brakes. It started March of 05. They like to randomly lock up whenever they feel like it... think I'm joking, tell it to the poor guy on the 118 who had to slam on his brakes, caue my car wanted to show off it's braking capabilites while doing 70mph. Not fun. The mechanic said that the coil on the E-brake is/was "being choked up on" and that the shoes were whelding themselves to the housing unit, I've NEVER herd of this happening to ANYONE. Whats even worse now is that it's starting all over again and it's only been 5 months since they were fixed last. If anyone knows what the deal is with my E-brake please let me know. Thanks

RE: emergency brakes, help
No it's an Auto. My Boyfriend worked on my car last night from 1pm to 230am, we finally got it done. There is some weird black sticky gum stuff thats all over the E-brake, shoes, and the housing. We have no clue where its coming from. We had to soak the Rotors in a defuser for HOURS and it was still a mother to get them off. Any idea as to what it could be? [sm=smiley29.gif]
