Default engine swap 2001 to 2004

I need some advice on a swap I recently finished. I have a 2001 Sebring 2.7L I swapped a 2004 Sebring sedan engine into it. I did my research and everything lined up. the 04 bolted right up. I replaced the water pump in the new 04 and timing set. I double check all my mark repeatedly, I am positive its timed correctly. I tried to start the engine and she wouldn't fire I cant remember where I read that if it dose not fire at first unplug the cam positioning sensor. After a long crank it fired up, it idles well, wont let me rev over 2700rpm.

I used the harness from the 2004 and the computer from the 2001, I have the computers from the 2004, if I have the key synced to the 2004 computer would this solve my problem?
If anyone has any experience with a swap like this and any solutions you may have please let me know.

Thank you

I am not sure about the Sebring but other Chrysler Products changed the electronics in 2002. The link provided outlines the changes for the LH cars and what needs to be swapped for the 3.5 engine.

Sounds like there may be a cam tone ring issue if it starts with the cam sensor unplugged.

in the chain kit you got did the cam shaft tome wheel get replaced with the 01 setup in it? Or did you just use the 04 tone wheel? also did you use the same fly wheel as the 01 or use the 04 one?

I used the fly wheel from the 04 and the cam sprocket from the the new kit for the 04.

I double checked everything again today. And the sprocket on the cam and the fly wheels are identical between 01 and 04.

I had a second look at the computer plugs. The 04 has pins in different spots then the 01. Which would make sense why the cam sensor isn't being registered. I will swap out the harness this weekend. I am confident she will fire up.

the 2001 plug is on the left the 2004 is on the right. You can see the difference in sockets.
