Default Filter drier does not fit 2002 Sebring

Hi,

I got my parts in to repair my AC for my 2002 Sebring LXI 2.7L. The drier I got has a metal clip type connection on the end of the line that connects to the expansion valve. The connection on the car uses a block type connection that screws on the expansion valve. Completely different type of connection. All the auto parts sites show that the drier that I purchased is the proper one.

Did they make any mid year changes to the car that may have changed the part. I have had the car since 50,000 miles and never had any AC work done. I have no reason to doubt that I have the original factory parts in the car.

Will this be a dealer only item.

Thank You

Jim

Default Ouch!

Ok,

Thanks for the info and help on the forum

I contacted the dealer today and found that my Sebring is a 2002 and 1/2. Part was changed mid year and is dealer only item. Picked up from dealer today and they really stung me. The drier from the dealer was almost as expensive as the compressor.

Default AC is working now

I put the new compressor and drier in today. Pulled the vacuum and charged the system. Air is running nice and cold.

Thank to the forum for help with my questions.

Jim
