Hello to all and a pleasant good evening I have a 2004 chrysler sebring coupe limited 3.0 engine manual 5 speed that drives in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th gear perfect but when i try to reverse a grinding sound comes from the gearbox and the shift stick jumps out of the reverse position. Can anyone help me with the reason this is happening and a solution to solve and fix this issue.

 

Does the shift arm at 1st 3rd and 5th stroke the same? (move forward)
if not its a snapped press pin on the 5 R shifting rail.
If they do its most likely a synchronizer sleeve.
