Default P0513 sentry key not recognized

You
I have a 06 sebring convertable 2.7 with a no crank condition. Battery has 12.4 v and when i probe pins 85 & 86 in the starter relay i get 12.4 when in start position then back to 0 when in run. I also have 12.4 at pin 30 with koeo. When i jump pins 30 & 87 the starter cranks but no start. I also read a code p0513 sentry key not recognized. The car has only ever had a regular metal key with no chip. One day my wife said it started for 3 seconds then died...it did that twice now nothing. I cant honestly say if the engine light was on before this or if i may have caused this by jumping the relay?

unfortunate for you there are 2 options 1 Replace the pcm that does not have the skim module info which it had a glitch and thinks it does now.

Or 2 Install a skim module if the wires are there and get ship keys and program both

I was thinking that someone along the way must have jumped wires somewhere to immobilize the the skim to accomidate the chipless key and that connection must have became undone because how would the car have had started with the chipless key this whole time? If the skim wouldve been active it wouldve been trying to recieve a signal from the key and wouldve never gotten one from a chipless key...therefore that key wouldve never started the vehicle. Dont they rig the skim when installing a remote starter?

if teh skim WAS active then it would have never started to begin with. Either the PCM freaked out or yes messing around with something made the pcm thing it now has skim.

The rigging in question is hiding a programmed skim key somewhere that is attached to the skim module so it always sees a key.
