Default rear driver shock slipped out of the mount

While driving the car yesterday, we started hearing a loud clunk from the rear. Today I saw that the top of the shock slipped out and now was resting on the spring. I pulled back the carpet on the inside of the trunk to just see a hole with nothing poking through. Im unfamiliar with the layout of this suspension.

Are there upper shock mounts? How does the shock stay in its place?

Thanks

Kyle

Yes there are upper shock mounts. You are on the Sebring board, so we assume it's a Sebring. What year? Model? Coupe, Sedan?

If you go to chryslerparts.net you may be able to find a parts layout for your vehicle that will show what is supposed to be there.
