Default Remote Starter only works when next to Car

I have a 2010 Sebring Limited sedan and had a remote starter installed by the dealer. It only works when standing next to the car. I've had back to the dealer twice, the last time they replaced the FOP Antenna. Still no good, any suggestions.

This issue has but one viable solution. You must be persistent and keep rapping on the dealers door until they get it right. What did they tell you after the latest attempt at a fix?

Amen to that. A remote starter that has a range of 2 feet does not qualify as a "remote" starter. Either they sell you the "remote" starter that you bargained for or they give you your money back. Don't take any excuses. They have not delivered on their end of the bargain.

today the dealer put a second new remote starter in and reprogrammed everything. Now the locks, trunk etc only work when they want and the remote starter still does not work. Dealer says they have never seen this problem before and don' know what to do. It's been 3 months and 5 trips to the dealer.

That's crazy. Sounds time for a complete refund. By the way, did the dealer sell you the starter kit (parts) as well?

I bought a remote starter for my wife's Mariner for Christmas. The dealer wanted $600, the local remote starter specialist wanted $200 for a brand-name remote kit, installed. Since the specialist installs dozens of these every day, I figured they probably know what they are doing. It works beautifully.
Lesson: Rely on a specialist for a special problem. You wouldn't rely on your family doctor for heart surgery.
Now, demand your money back and see a specialist.

Well my Sebring has been at the dealer now for 5 days, they tell they do not know what is wrong. Chrysler says they have never experienced this problem with any other car that they make. They have been good enough to give me a loaner, but I'd rather have the Sebring to drive, instead of the Compass loaner. What will Chrysler do if they can't fix it, so far they have had 76 working hours to fix it and have not been able. We don't have a lemon law here in Canada.

Default Fixed At last

Finally the dealer got my car fixed, all the problems with the remote starter, remote entry etc. were caused by interference with my iPhone. Don't leave your iPhone plugged in when you leave the car or expect the same problems I had.
