Default Third Brake light not working

Just bought an '01 Convertible and went to have it inspected and found out the third brake light is not working. Went to try to replace the bulb and consulted the manual, which says "you may wish to see the dealer". Anyone know the procedure for replacing the bulbs, or does the entire unit need to be replaced? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Default RE: Third Brake light not working

Update- finally figured out you have to lower the top to get at the screws under the deck. Pulled the light off and found out the connector had come unplugged! Plugged back in & lit up like new.

BTW- dealer quote for new light = $143.00!!!
