train whistle noise

Default train whistle noise

i hope somebody can help i just bought a 02 sebring coupe with the 3.0 v6 and just noticed that when it is really cold out and that car is cold that it makes a train whistle noise for the first few mins then goes away the car idles great... just wondering if anybody else has heard this noise before or if anybody had any idea's oh ya the noise comes and goes woot woot then nothing few seconds later woot woot doesn't seem like engine speed has anything 2 do with it

It could be a power steering whine untill the fluid warms up. Next cold morning, open the hood and see if the noise is coming from the p/s unit. Don't put your fingers too close, several things on that side of the engine, "bite".
