Default trunk locking clasp

The trunk lid won't stay shut. The clasp doesn't lock closed. I can hear the mechanisms clicking when using the remote but the clasp wont stay shut. ??

If you push on the clasp manually (e.g. with a screwdriver) does the latch close? Pressing the remote, does it pop open?

Try spraying some known or something and work it back and forth manually

The trunk is a long way from the battery, with lots of wiring and connections in between. Something may be marginal in there and a weak battery was not getting through. Might want to look at the grounds back there for a corroded connection. But then, if it ain't broke....
