Default twice the mileage overnight

On my 1996 sebring in order to correct an intemittent no start problem my mechanic replaced the body control module. The donor module displays 161000 miles while the car has only 84000 miles. Is there any way the mileage could be transfered from original bcm

He probably installed a BCM from some junked car. ECM's and BCM's should be programmed with the VIN and mileage before installing them into the vehicle. He should know that.
