Default 05 sebring 2.7l v6 sedan voltage regulator

Does anyone know if the voltage regulator on an 05' sebring 2.7l v6 sedan is attached to the alternator or located somewhere else.If it is located somewhere elese could you please tell me the location. Thanks

It's inside the PCM an the alternator has electronics inside that cant be easily bypassed .. But you can swap the alternator out to an older style that can an then do an external conversion with a " stand alone " voltage regulator for less than $200 bucks .. I just converted my 2010 Sebring 2.4L

If your PCM (Powertrain Control Module or engine computer) is bad, you can replace it on an exchange basis for about $200. Search the internet for services that do that.
