2018 300 S Uconnect 8.4 Touchscreen not working
My 3018 Chrysler 300 S has been in the body shop for 3 months after being rear ended over 3 months ago. My radio has a mind if it’s own. Calls the same person multiple times. I have to turn off Bluetooth on my phone so it doesn’t call. Following this. Please help.
As far as the stations changing and the thing going crazy, my 2018 300S also did that and it was obvious the laminate was separating. Again.as stated above it is an issue with the screen and was covered and replaced under my extended warranty even though I only have 290000. The new units respond quicker and work so much better that the older ones, it is amazing. If you don't have extended it will cost you some coin but IMHO it is worth it with the amount of use it gets. Once that laminate starts to go, there is no fixing it and it drives the screen crazy.
My 2 cents.
My 2 cents.
On a similar note: As I found on some forums folks who had the same issue I had with the USBs in the glove box being intermittent. Particularly the ones that control UConnect and android Auto etc. They work, then they don't and so on. A dealer finally found the issue, a slightly pinched wire under the console. It was replaced today and I will see if this fixes the annoying issue which has been there since new. Of all the dealers I brought it to, Longley Dodge was the only one that found the problem and (hopefully) fixed it.
Update today: They told me there are 3 service bulletins on pinched or cut wires under the console. He showed me my old one, oh... it was cut and pinched in several places.

My screen is going crazy, buttons are moving on its own. I connect using Uconnect and it would hang up my calls and change radio stations.
I need help, what's the best option for me reasonable $$$$ to get this matter fixed.

I have the extended warranty from Mopar and it was covered for replacement under that. Otherwise I don't believe there is an option, it has to be replaced once it starts going crazy.
I had mine replaced in June on my 2018 and the new ones are even faster than the older versions.

I'm having the same issue with my radio. It changes stations all by itself, won't let me make calls from bluetooth. There needs to be a recall on this matter, this is very frustrating since this car is only 4 years old and the radio and screen look and act like crap.
So good people.... I just recovered from this issue and as many of you have either encountered or noticed that once this starts (your screen being a light gray with black at the bottom with the bubble generally starting at the top). The days are numbered before you have the issues that everyone is getting i.e. the random button pushes, touchscreen not responding, radio acting like it is being possessed and a good number of other issues. There is a remedy (several) to this situation:
1. Purchase a spool of fishing line, a package of clear gorilla tape, a roll of paper towels, some sprayway glass cleaner, a putty scraper, and a bottle of 70% isopropyl rubbing alcohol. Remove the 8.4 Uconnect system from your car (there are several Youtube videos on this procedure). (this one is the least expensive but the most HAZARDOUS to your radio if not careful). One slip of the hand and your digitizer is toast.
2. Take your car to the dealership and have them repair the radio touchscreen for you. This is notcovered under warranty at most dealerships.
3. Take it to someone who has successfully replaced theirs and have them repair it for you.
Options 1 and 3 are at your own risk. I was able to repair mine with a careful purchase from Amazon and a few hours of cleaning the screen. Please note that if the bubbling has started that the sticky stuff has left the seams of the radio and dripped down the first accessible path to your A/C controller. So a lot of cleaning is in order. It is always advisable to have a new digitizer on hand if you are going to attempt to do this yourself. And as a further note, the new digitizer will take a few minutes to actually acclimate itself to your car.... so you will see some not so funny stuff happen after the install.
