Diagnosing Water Pump issues maybe??
Hello everyone!!
The vehicle I am having cooling system issues with is my 2008 Chrysler 300C, 5.7L V-8
I serviced and charged my A.C. about 2 weeks ago and I noticed after a while that my car would start to overheat when the outside temps were getting into the mid 90's F with the heat index about 101 F where I live and still are.
It was the I started to notice that there was a small coolant puddle on the ground daily, about a few ounces at any time.
I didn't notice any coolant leaks before I started needing to use the A.C. as the car keeps pretty cool by itself , no issues.
As the A.C. is now operating normally the extra heat load on the cooling system makes it more obvious The extra heat load is factored in to the cooling system calculations the auto engineers when designing the vehicle so it still should operate normally with the A.C. running except in extreme circumstances.
I took the attached pictures a few days ago and I can't see where it has been leaking whether the car is running at normal operating temp at idle or off!!
I pressure tested it with 2 different cooling system pressure testers at 2 different Auto Parts stores. I pumped the pressure up to between 18 to 20 PSI couldn't find ANY leak anywhere???!!!
So I rented the kit at one of the stores and I will test it again today in an hour or so and see what I can find.
What I am asking from everyone is where are the most likely places to look for leaks and are the images showing the symptoms of a bad water pump in the making or some other type of leak issue going on??
I have turned wrenches on cars going back many years ago along with doing a lot of H.V.A.C. and Electrical work but I stopped working on cars other than my own back in Dec.of 2000 , so i am trying to catch up and learn all I can about these cars because they are really awesome.
By the way I purchased the 3 years ago and have had no real issues with it until now.
