Default Help please!-2007 300 Touring

Hello all,
I have a 2007 300 Touring with 100k miles on it. When the temperature is cold outside( 45 degrees or less) the car starts fine and then the ECT, electronic throttle control light (red lightning bolt) comes on. The car usually starts to hesitate and accelerates poorly. Sometimes it won’t respond at all when the gas pedal is pushed. I can usually pull over, turn the car off and restart and it goes back to normal, no light. It runs well once warmed up. I took it to one mechanic who couldn’t do anything with it. Any ideas? Is this something that would be better to let a dealer look at?

Thank you for the help!

D

I don’t have a computer to check codes. I’m reading more and this doesn’t seem to be a rare problem. Some have said there’s a way to reset the electronic throttle control? I appreciate anyone’s help that has dealt with this.

just resetting something like that wont help. If you do that you also erase any data the computer has stored to help correctly locate the issue.

DEBUCK Some auto parts stores will read your codes for free. Check it out in your area.

Sounds to me like a throttle body issue.

Head to your local Autozone and check for error codes in the computer at no charge.
