Default Possible transmission issues

I have a 2011 V6 Chrysler 300. 2 days ago I was driving on the highway going pretty fast and manually shifting the gears. But when I switched back to a drive gear the car made a slight push like it was trying to change a gear and began to gradually lose RPMs. The gas pedal was not working no matter how hard or quick I push it. The car was basically slowly stopping. I made an emergency stop and restarted the car. The same thing happened on the way back home a second after I floored the gas pedal. I made an emergency stop and restarted the car again and got a check engine light. I was able to take the first exit and ride back home without any issues. It happens only if I press the gas pedal for more then 40%. The car was not overheated. Has anyone encountered something similar or know why the car behaves like this.
