Default Problem Getting Screen Mirroring/Projection Manager To Work

Hello All, I have a question.

I have a 2019 300s, and I don't know how I did it before, but, one time in the past, I was able to get my 8.4 screen to display what was on the screen of my cell phone.
I did a google search and pretty much everything that I am finding is either making a reference to an app that I need to add to my phone or, it makes reference to using a
USB cord to connect my phone to my car. But I am sure that when I did this before, I didn't have to do either of those things.

So, my question is, is it possible to get my cell phone to display to the 8.4 screen without said app or USB cord, and if so, can someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks,
Easy

I have a 2019. I plug my phone in with usb and the android auto app for navigation- while it doesn't mirror my screen I can pretty much use any app on my phone with it, including spotify. I believe the android auto app is installed by Default one some android devices which explains why it may have just worked at some point without the need for an install

Hi, I'm sorry to hear this. Please let me know if you plan on visiting a dealership for this concern. I would be happy to open a case for you.

I have a 2018 300S and same here. I got it to work one time before right after I purchased the vehicle, but since I was new at it, I have no idea (nor remember) how I did it.
Also it seems many folks confuse phone projection manager with screen mirroring. I am not sure they are one in the same.
Does it have something to do with Android Auto? From everything I have read I do it the same way as mirroring to my TV but the phone does not see the screen/car.
I find a few cryptic video's on You Tube but they are of no help at all. Has anyone done this?
I also would appreciate some detailed/step by step instructions.

Thanks,
Bob
