For some reason, when my car sits, it almost doesn't want to turn over when I go to start it. There are no unusual noises coming from the car other than the weak starting noise before it eventually turns over. I got a brand new die hard battery last year so I'm wondering if it could be the alternator? The dealership couldn't replicate the problem (per usual) but said there was no corrosion on the starter wires. Please help!

 

Did the dealer test the battery? My experience with that Aspen is that a weak battery means the engine doesn't crank at all. It might be a fuel delivery problem, but it's really hard to tell with your description and no codes being thrown. Could need plugs, could have a bad fuel injector that's leaking down when the vehicle sits, could have a fuel pump on the way out...hard to tell without more information.

 

84k miles on the car now. I didn't have the dealer test the battery but maybe I should at some point. At 60k miles I put in new plugs and pcv valve as part of that service. Also, recently the engine light came on and found a bad egr valve which I replaced as well.

 

In my experience, the battery can affect so many things. I always start there and work my way out.
