Default Driver seat moves unexpectedly - Anyone else???

Our driver seat moves occasionally in a very unexpected and unpredictable manner. It may move at anytime. It moves only a short distance and most times it immediately relocates to the original location. It always moves while the vehicle is moving. It seems to move most often when the brakes are being used very lightly. Typically, it moves after 20 - 30 minutes of drive time, generally it will only move once per trip, however, we have had it to move three times on one occasion. It occurs probably every once ever ten trips, but it is not predictable.

Any one else experience this type occurance?

Thanks,

I have not experienced any seat movement in mine, but I am curious about this. Does it move like the mount is loose or like the seat motor is being activated? Does it always move the same amount or direction? I am wondering if the "easy exit" is being activated while you are driving, meaning it will move back two inches and then move to the front two inches.

All the movement is motor driven. The direction is generally the same, i.e., back then to the front, or front then back. Very occassionally it seems to move in only one direction. All movement is probably in the 1/2" to 1" movement, just a little movement, not the amount of the easy exit.

I am going to take it to Chrysler for oil change and ask them to check it out, I am sure the answer will be "Not Presently Failing"

Thanks,

As an update to this we just completed a 3,022 mile trip for Thanksgiving. The moving seat continues, we experienced about 30+ sudden, unexpected movements of the driver seat as we were driving. If the memory seat was set to my driving position the seat seems to move suddenly and immediately move back to the same setting and position, maybe an inch either way. Just a sudden, unexpected movement. If the memory is set to Susan's driving position it seems to move forward and requires a manual use of the seat switch to move the seat back to the correct location. Very disconcerting and dangerous.

Generally, there is nothing going on that might cause this movement that we can track. It just moves!

Any body else experiencing this type situation???

The last trip to service resulted in nothing being found to cause the seat movement.

It is now occurring almost every trip of 8-10 miles or more. Exactly the same movements regardless of which memory position is in use. Slight movement forward and back, no apparent cause, no way to reproduce for service, no codes are captured.

We will take this back to service in the next few days to let them try again to find the issue. If not, then we will try to get the vehicle replaced with the Arizona Lemon Laws.

Love the car, but this unexplained seat movement is a cause for major concern.
