Thanks guys, good to know. I have never seen it on my '07 and was starting to think something was wrong.

What's this msd/dod mode?

It shuts down 4 counterbalanced cylinders and runs on the other 4 when it can (adequate power, etc.).

This is all in the name of fuel economy. It works great on the Interstate with cruise control, etc.

I just purchased a 2009 Aspen about 3 weeks ago. I have yet seen the fuel saver displayed. Should it be displayed in the main cluster or in the overhead EVIC where the temp and other features display?

It will display when engaged on the MPG display within the EVIC. Once you see when it kicks on/off, you'll be able to feel the engine transition back and forth between 4 and 8 cylinders. It's very subtle, but noticeable if you know what you're looking for.

I have driven the vehicle at different speeds on the highway with cruise on. I still have not seen the "fuel saver" displayed. Nor have I felt any transition in the engine. Should I have the MDS checked or is there a flash for the computer? According to the MPG display I am only averaging 15 MPG. Would greatly like to see 18 mpg or better. Any suggestions?

I'll bet the hitch installer damaged the wiring causing a fault as no others have seen the same message.

Double check the manual.
07 shows on dash only when the settings shows the mpg
